BACKGROUND
Gastweberin is a small local web business, helping small local businesses to built their websites.
The name Gastweberin, what means Guest-Weaver came along, as the Client is named ´Gast´ too plus word Web in German has the same meaning like ´weaven´. This double meaning makes the name so special.
The design task was to create a logo that is approachable, as this company is really local and friendly, like your web design neighbor. It should nurture the vibe: Your easy local access to the internet.
SOLUTION
Before starting the final execution I went in different directions. The company is like a door opener, bringing small companies into the world wide web and its also really personal. Gastweberin is weaving your website. So a lot of association came into my mind.
Finally the client liked the idea of using herself within the logo the most, deciding for the chosen illustration style. Overall the logo has a really open, friendly and easy style, Mrs. Gast is presenting the web solution to their clients.
